Ashoka Mody is an economist and economic historian who teaches international economic policy at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. He was previously a deputy director in the research and European departments of the International Monetary Fund, and before that worked at the World Bank.
India Is Broken is his account of the Indian economy since independence, read as a series of choices about jobs, education, and public health rather than as a record of growth rates.
