Ambedkar King Study Circle, India Civil Watch, and Alliance of South Asians Taking Action presented a conversation with investigative journalist Niranjan Takle.

Niranjan Takle, an award-winning Indian investigative journalist, spoke about the rise of Hindu nationalism (Hindutva) in India and the ongoing attacks on journalists, human rights defenders and minority communities. Mr. Takle also broke the Judge Loya story, where the suspicious circumstances of the death of Judge Loya, who was hearing the Sohrabuddin Shaikh case which implicated several members of the ruling party.

Mr. Takle is the two-time recipient of The Mumbai Press Club’s National Red Ink Awards for Excellence in Journalism in 2013 and 2015. He has worked for CNN-News18, an India English-language news television channel, The Caravan, an Indian English-language magazine that covers politics and culture, and The Week, an Indian news magazine.
